I am a front-end developer and designer in Lexington, KY employed by Trifecta!. The past few years I have found myself working predominantly in Drupal 7, and more recently 8, building mobile-first online experiences. Before jumping into web development I worked freelance as a designer taking on projects both in print and web. This also included collaboration with Marc Reyes of Crosshatch learning a great deal about working with an Art Director and executing projects with an emphasis on respecting brand guidelines. I'm well versed in clean html/css markup, Photoshop (emphasis on color correction and clean-up), editorial design/layout with InDesign, Drupal development, vendor communications and client relations.

I'm a life long musician with projects currently based in both Louisville and Lexington, KY as well as solo sonic excursions in my home's basement. I am an avid explorer of modular synthesis, though stubbornly particular about my loyalty to particular manufacturers and their systems or instruments. Not euro-rack soup. Making sounds of all sorts is part of my daily experience and it gives me great joy to have worked with so many artists who have inspired me personally.

SONOIO is a solo project of Alessandro Cortini. The name of the alternative rock/electronic project comes from the Italian phrase "sono io", which means "it's me".

After establishing a relationship with modwheelmood I was asked by Alessandro Cortini to help build a web presence for his solo project Sonoio. This was a thrilling project to be a part of as it allowed me to work with creative elements created by artist Caspar Newbolt of Version Industries and focus on implementation and development. Alessandro was offering numerous packages and was one of the first artist to incorporate the TOPSPIN media platform with a record release. The project evolved many times over the years and concluded with the release of the final album in 2018.

The Calipari Foundation

Organized in 2012, The Calipari Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) public charity. John and Ellen Calipari formed the foundation to facilitate their involvement in charitable causes throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

I worked under the direct supervision of Senior Designer Kevin O'dea to undertake all the front end and backend development on this project. Built in Drupal 7 on the responsive bootstrap framework.

modwheelmood is an Electronic-Alternative band from Los Angeles, California formed by Alessandro Cortini and former Abandoned Pools guitarist Pelle Hillström in 1998.

Between 2006-2010 I worked directly with the band to help develop a web presence, create tour collateral including posters & create the packaging of the 2XLP and CD, Pearls to Pigs. The design was approached with a stark minimalist aesthetic and the cover included a subtle embossed brail cover. All pieces under the direction of founding member Alessandro Cortini.

The mission of Bluegrass is to assist individuals and families in the enhancement of their emotional, mental and physical well-being by providing behavioral health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disability services. We serve those who have limited options for meeting their behavioral health needs.

I worked under the direct supervision of Senior Designer Kevin O'dea to undertake all the front end and backend development on this project. Built in Drupal 7 on the responsive bootstrap framework.

My responsibilities also included training staff on the upkeep and use of the site from an administrative standpoint.

Josh Freese

Joshua Freese is an American session drummer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer. He is a permanent member of The Vandals and Devo, having formerly played drums for Guns N' Roses from 1997 to 2000, A Perfect Circle from 1999 to 2012, Nine Inch Nails from 2005 to 2008, Weezer from 2009 to 2011...

I had the pleasure to help Josh with the design and layout of his last two solo albums, Since 1972 and My New Friends. Josh was one of the first artist to offer multi-tiered options for purchasing his record. Wired covered it extensively here.

A couple of the options involved writing/recording on his follow up with/and/or about the folks who were crazy enough to follow through on some of the more egregious offerings. Wired also covered that here. Somewhere along the way we built a website documenting all the lunacy but that was gobbled up by a failed hard-drive.

BC Smith

From the powerful groundbreaking music of his first film score SMOKE SIGNALS (Sundance Film Festival’s Audience Award and Filmmakers Trophy winner), to the minimalist electronic textures of the upcoming Mandalay Pictures / Netflix film AMATEUR, BC Smith is one of those rare composers firmly entrenched in a world of diverse and eclectic musical styles.

I designed and developed this sight working directly with artist BC Smith. BC sought my help establishing a web presence after we concluded work on his collaborative project ACBC with Alessandro Cortini. This is a hand-coded site sitting on top of a responsive bootstrap template.

University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts

The College of Fine Arts declares that the arts are essential to the life of the individual and the community. We express our commitment to the arts through our dedication to teaching, scholarly research, artistic experimentation, performance, and exhibition.

I was hired, on a freelance basis, from a local design firm in Lexington, KY to develop and deploy a Drupal 7 build for the University of Kentucky's College of Fine Arts. I ambitiously (perhaps foolishly) took on the task single-handedly and executed an enterprise level site working from provided art files. The site was heavily critiqued and tested to meet university and state accessibility standards as well as, at the time, being one of the first sites that scaled responsibly for the university.

After the site launch I served as a liaison between the department and the agency spending weeks training staff, both group and individually, on management of the content system I had built.

I designed and layed out the artwork and packaging for the band OTTO's 2018 self-titled release. I've known Otto for years, having played and recorded music with him, and was entrusted to create the packaging for this digipak CD release. I was asked to "use a picture of a sky" and this is where we landed. Hand-lettering by me and photo by Grace LeMaitre.
